I would like to share our perspective with regard to education at Canara Gurukula Public School. Many educators focus more on the list of standards rather than the ‘students’ they are supposed to serve. We need to understand the distinction between ‘school life’ and ‘real life’ between learning and teaching, between learning well and living well. Learning is richest when teachers and students strive for excellence within the content of mutually defined goals.
Teachers are not mere implementers of education as per curriculum, but build up life of students to live well also. No doubt teaching and coaching students to achieve excellence in their studies is very important. At the same time each student should learn the life skills, understand the society, the environment, the discipline, the moral values, the culture, duties and responsibilities. These can not be inculcated overnight. We provide an atmosphere to students and teachers through activity based learning.
